We did it!

Months of work finally paid off last night. Eight of our Raiders got the Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10 player), and the subsequent mount. Unfortunately, we did not get the free 310 flying upgrade, because Blizzard had removed that in the 4.0 patch. So, back to grinding the gold for my faster wings! -_-

I'd like to thank my guild for all the effort. It has been a bumpy road, and quite a few people got left on the wayside, but I'm sure we will become stronger as a guild from this.

*hugs* YAY, Way to go Alienation!

So close...

Wednesday, our regular 10-man team of raiders, was a hair's breadth away from getting our Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquishers. Most of us only need one or two Achievements. Heroic Sindragosa and All You Can Eat. After wiping a few times on Heroic Sindy, we tried a new method for the Achievement and were seconds away from killing her before we reached 6 stacks of the debuff. It was such a huge letdown.

Since we still had a couple of hours left in our normal raiding schedule, we continued on to clear out Heroic Plagueworks and attempted The Crimson Hall. To be honest, my heart wasn't into it. I was tired and was so thankful when the raid was over. Tonight we are going to be cleaning up the bosses we have left. Hopefully we will all get the kinks out and be able to get The Lich King down.

On a non-raiding note, I have started a new project. On Halloween, Andrew was the only one of us who didn't have a costume. I had made myself a Snow Leopard tail and ears and Fox had his fox ears and tail from a while back. So, after seeing Birlioz's "Yarn Tails", I got the idea to make Andrew his own tail using her method. I got a bunch of yarn and started working last night. All I can say is that it is very time consuming and... painful. *laughs* The cat brush I am using on the yarn is very spiky and pokes my fingers. I am not even a quarter done and I worked on it for four hours last night! I have so much more to do on it...

Too bad Andrew and I are starting to feel "meh". Our daughter woke up sick last night and sneaked into our room and slept on the floor next to us. When we woke up, he had to give her a bath because she was covered in... sick. Now Andrew and I are feeling exhausted and sick ourselves. I hope I can get some stuff done today... but for now I need a nap. >.<

Loneliness...

Well, I've been lax on my blogging. Sorry about that.

A lot has happened since my last post. I got back into raiding. However, my guild decided to stop raiding 25-mans and now only does 10-man raiding. That's not too much of a problem really. Since Cataclysm is only a bit over a month away, any gear I would have would not last very long. In the meantime, we are trying to get our Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10 Player) achievements.

On a personal note, I'm an emotional wreck today.
I tried to contact my cousin, one of only three living blood relatives I have. The other two are my aunt and my father, whom I have not seen since I was two years old. My cousin has a successful business making paper miniatures. I made an account on his forums to say "hi". He deletes my account without a word. I make another to ask him why, and he bans me by IP.

Things like this make me thankful I have Andrew, Fox, and my children. They are all I need.
Oh, and of course friends like BJJamie, and Snowflake! *hugs*

*sighs*

I've had to step back for a bit from Raiding for a while. My real life has become a bit more stressful lately because I'm temporarily off some medication I take to help me balance my mood. I can't take the extra stress at this point and feel that I am far too much of a liability. I am unable to focus very well and as such, my healing has suffered. I have not been a very good DPSer, due to my focus on healing, and have a hard time pushing myself to be the best I can be.

I am my own worst critic. I demand perfection from myself and when I am unable to reach it, I become frustrated and snap easily. This has caused me to get into arguments that would not have existed if my mood was more easily controlled. This evening I was not at my best and, I believe caused us to fail on a critical encounter. I took comments towards myself very seriously and regret some things I said and did. So, in the best interests of everyone involved I have decided to take six weeks off from raiding. This will allow time for me to once again get my medication (stupid Doctor's appointment is not until the 27th...) and have time to build up in my system.

I'm going to spend my freed up time to play the Cataclysm Beta a bit and to play my Horde alt with Fox. I've been helping him try to get his Druid to 80 before Cataclysm ships. It's been fun, and challenging, since this is his first character and I no longer have a high level Horde character to be a Sugar Mama. ;)

*sighs* I need to go take a long hot bath. I took a long walk with Fox to help me cool down and my feet are tired. It was the longest I have walked since I moved here. It took us two hours, but we walked approximately 2.5 miles. Fox and Death are very proud of me, and I must say the walk helped me clear my head a bit.

So... I will leave this post on a slightly humorous note with an image I've always liked, that reminded me of what happened during tonights raid... and as a friendly warning. ;)

Cataclysm Beta Report- I can haz explosives?

Whee! I just finished up my stint as a Goblin, and I must say it was fun! The starting area is much more polished than the Worgen starting zone thus far. I did not experience any quests that I couldn't finish due to bugs.

My first impressions of the Goblins are, they are fun! The starting zone is full of silly and wacky stuff. You go from being the #2 Goblin, to robbing your own savings out of the bank, to a shipwreck survivor, to eventually the savior of the Goblin race. It's a fun ride. While I'm pretty much only Alliance now, I recommend everyone going through the entire Goblin starting zone just to see how fun it is.

Well, here are my pics! Hope you enjoy!!

Hmmm...

I had a few moments to spare so I decided to look at a few "Best in Slot" lists for Restoration Druids and I came up with a wishlist for gear. Here it is up on WoWhead's Character Profiler. I'm pretty satisfied with it. My only worry is that it's skewed to Heroic modes, which means I may not see most of my wishlist completed until just before Cataclysm. In which quite a few of it might be replaced before I even hit 85. -_-

I know my Guild Master, and resident Kick-Ass healer, Sneed won't like that I am going for Heroic Trauma... but it is considered Best in Slot. :(

I hope he can forgive me. ;)

Cataclysm Beta Report- Vash'jir complete!

I have finally completed all of the completable quests in the underwater realm of Vash'jir! I have uploaded a bunch of images I have taken during my travels in this realm. Doing all of the quests here got me from 80 (no rested expernience) to 3/4ths to the current beta level cap of 83.

The zone is expansive and fun. lots of new and interesting quests. The characters you meet are memorable. there are several fun quests (not going to spoil it here) that introduce new mechanics. A few are broken, but able to be completed. one in preticular is essential, in my opinion, to the enjoyment of the zone. It is the underwater mount quest. It is unable to be completed during this build. I look forward to finishing it when they fix it.

The storylines introduced in this zone are epic. If you are a lore buff like I am, you will have fun during many of the quests. Well, enough talking. Here is a slideshow of the 80 images I took in Vash'jir. If you want to see the individual images, just click!

Woot, Cataclysm Beta Invite....!

For Deathpaw :P

Grats to one of my my Lovies for being chosen out of millions of people, to be in the beta. Too bad that luck doesn't help with the lottery. :P

I'll try my best to write updates with first hand info on the beta. I'll post varied info, not just Druid stuff since Deathpaw plays a Death knight and a Priest. Plus some Worgen info too!

So... Until next update!

So... I learned a new word today.

The word is Anserine.

an·ser·ine (ansər īn′, -in)
adjective
  1. of or like a goose
  2. stupid; foolish

I was in the car with Deathpaw, driving home after dropping Fox off at work. He is going to be away for a week with his parents on vacation. A few miles from home, I noticed a poor animal on the side of the road. I ask Deathpaw to stop. He turns around and I walk over to the animal. It was a fully grown fox. Saddened, I respectfully pick it up to place it in the bushes so it wouldn't be desecrated by any more cars as they go by. After I put it down, I notice a red truck slow down and stop near me. The passenger side window rolls down and I notice an older gentleman, possibly mid-fifties, looking at me. He says, in a very thick hick-like accent:

"Lady, that was stupid. Don't you go touchin' no foxes. They has rabies!"

Seriously. this man obviously believes that touching the corpse of a dead fox is going to give me rabies. Now, I would have thanked this man for his concern and sent him on his way if he wasn't so -mean- when he talked to me. He was downright angry. As if I was threatening -his- life by picking up a fox on the side of the road. Carefully, I might add. Instead, I simply said-

"It can't give me rabies. It's -dead-. It has to bite me to give it to me."

As he was driving away, I couldn't help but yell back at him... "DUMBASS!"

I got in the car and drove home. *sighs*

I've become an Alien!

So... due to some schedule changes, Deathpaw and I have had to raid with a new guild. We chose the guild, Alienation, because we have friends in it. We've raided a bit with our new guild and I must say I enjoy it a lot. We do 25-mans on Tuesday and Wednesday and a 10-man on Thursday and Friday.

So far I have been able to get a token to upgrade my gear. I'm eying a couple more items from 25-man, but need to rack up some more DKP before I can have a chance to bid on them. Our 10-man group is focused on downing the Lich King. We're having the raid ID locked, so we can keep attempting him until we kill him. That will open up our 10-man group to doing heroic Mode fights so we can get our special Frostwyrm mounts.

On a real life note, I'm trying to get a regular walking schedule going for Fox and I. Hopefully, we'll be able to get back into shape again. ^^

Bah... updates updates!

After working our asses off and switching roles around a little, I am pleased to announce the death of the Blood Council!

We switched from a Warlock tank to Deathpaw (DK) tanking Prince Keleseth. It seemed to work very well and the following week we one-shot them .^^

We are having a bit of guild drama though. We've had two people leave the guild recently. Speaking with them further it seems it boils down to how we raid. From leadership to policies. I understand progression can be frustrating, but we have to stay together for the good of the guild. DP and I have been dismissing requests to join other, more progressed guilds. If other guildmates break under the stress of progression, we may lose more.

We currently run with 10 core raiders and no skilled temp raiders to fill the slots for tired or missing people. I have proposed several ideas to our raid leader, Spontain, and interim Guild Master, Archidamus... but... *sighs* At times I feel ignored, and so does DP. I long for the days where we seemed closer to the guild. I simply don't know what changed.

Well... Here's to hoping!!

Great news everybody! Wait... I forgot...

I'm such a bad tree... I'm sorry for the lack of updates.

So... We finally downed Professor Putricide, yay!

Thanks to my guild for sticking to it and finally getting that bastard down!

Andrew and I started running Saturday ICC 25-man PuGs. (Short for "Pick up Group") For the most part they've been pretty successful. We've downed four bosses without any issue, but have been having trouble downing the Plague Wing. We are going to be trying to down Festergut, Rotface, and Putricide on Monday. *crosses her fingers*

Now, for a rant.
I just recently read the Cataclysm Druid class changes and I'm pretty torn. I'm really happy about most of the changes. The one I'm upset about is the change to remove Tree of Life from a passive form, to a cooldown. This means I can only be a tree for a short time, most likely when I need burst healing. One of the reasons for the change was that they wanted Druids to be able to stop complaining about not showing off our armor... WTF? Just let us show off our Shoulderpads in forms! *sighs*

The only good part of this change is that I'll be showing off my sexy Worgen-ness a lot more. (They better have great casting animations!)

Frusterated Druid is frusterated...

In the spirit of Charlie Brown I must say... ARRG!!!!

My guild and I threw ourselves at Professor Putricide fifteen times. We were so close... so close to beating him. We had a "0%" wipe. The bugger had 10,000 health and due to the tank dying, he regained his health and we all died. *sighs* So frustrating! Tonight we may be doing a 25-player ICC, if we can get enough people. Or, if not, we may go back to the Professor for some payback.

On a side note, we may have killed Putricide last night if it wasn't for a known issue that caused one of our Priest healer's abilities to be canceled. :(

Me likey the cakey!

Yay!

Today was a wonderful surprise. Earlier my Guild had done a wonderful Ice Crown Citadel run. It was the start of a very nice day. ;) We had smoothly downed all the bosses up to Professor Putricide, then called it a night. I'm 1000 reputation away from my Ashen Verdict exalted ring (Yay!) and got two very nice pieces of loot. First was my offspec trinket, then I got some seriously sweet pants that might be worth breaking my T9 4-piece set bonus for.

Later in the afternoon, Fox and Andrew treated me out to Red Lobster for an early birthday dinner. ^^ Yes... I was born 32 years ago today (as of 12:00am EST ^^) They surprised me once again by getting me a gorgeous cake.

Eek, I'm about to be late for tonights raid. We're going to be trying to down Professor Putricide. Please wish me luck and take care! *hugs*

Oy vey...

Well, I had an interesting evening.

I've discovered that I am allergic to Niacin supplements. While Andrew (known as Deathpaw/Daelyhel) was making dinner, I was feeling very run down due to a very nasty cold. I took a Niacin pill, which was known as an energy booster, and about an hour later I swelled up like a balloon and my skin was beet red. Sadly, this was during our Family Time (playing worms 2). I felt like my skin was burning and it was horribly painful. Panicking I ran into the bath and sat in a cold tub. It provided some relief, then I saw my face... I looked like a bulldog. >.<

Andrew and Fox came in to see how I was doing, horribly worried of course. Since the bath didn't help, I decided to lay down. I fell asleep and an hour later Fox and Andrew came to lay down with me.

I woke up about 6am. Skin still irritated, but not nearly as bad as last night. Lesson learned... Read the warnings on the side of supplement bottles before taking them! *sighs* And I wanted to play WoW last night. >.<

So I decided to make a blog...

*grins*
Well, let me start by introducing myself. My online name is Liavain, and I play World of Warcraft. I've been playing WoW since it came out. I started as a Night Elf Hunter, but due to some guild drama I ended up going Horde. I switched to a Tauren Shaman and named her Farahawnee. I must say, I loved my character. I played her for four years and grew quite attached to her. I ended up raiding with her as an Elemental, and loved the "Pew Pew!", but at one point my guild needed a healer and I went Restoration.

After hearing the upcoming changes they were planning for the Horde, lore wise, I decided to give a big "F-YOU!" to Garrosh Hellscream and switch to alliance. My heart will always be with the Horde, but to be honest I am looking forward to the Worgen. Yes, I admit, I'm a Furry! *laughs*

I joined an Alliance guild named "We Raid in Greys". I really do love my guild. My guild has had a lot of ups and downs, but I'm a loyal person to a fault and will stick by my guild. I ended up changing from Shaman to Druid. It was a bit of a change. Especially in healing and dps. I always loved playing my druid as a Feral, but in the interests of keeping the gear simple, I went "Boomchicken".

My guild is a lot of fun. We raid on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights at 11:30pm server. Since I live in Virginia, that ends up being after midnight. >.< There are some frustrating moments, to be sure, but it's worth it. We are currently working on Icecrown Citadel. Since we are a casual guild, we are more relaxed when it comes to certain aspects. Many of us came from a hardcore raider background. Our raid leader, in the interests of helping us progress, has begun to be more selective on who we take with us to ICC. That has caused problems internally, but I see it as a benefit to us in the long run. It's not fair to everyone to be stuck progressing because of a few people who may not be up to the task at hand.

I'll try to keep my blog updated on things such as progress, notes about my class, and even some personal notes. I don't know who may be interested in reading my ramblings, but eh, I need a place to vent. :P

Thanks for reading!
